This is the first time in Bangladesh , Vistual Polish Film Festival from 22 to 26 September 2021

This is the first time “Vistual Polish Film Festival” is going to be organized in Bangladesh with selected contemporary Polish Cinemas (Feature, Short and Documentary). This five-day-long online film-festival (Starting from September 22, 2021) will host a remarkable number of exciting events (Screenings, Exhibitions, Masterclasses, Interviews and Analyses) paving the way for film enthusiasts, activists and professionals of Bangladesh to enjoy Polish Cinemas. Audience will get to know and experience glorious history, aesthetics, technicality and artistic views of Polish Cinemas through Masterclasses and Lectures conducted by internationally renowned film scholars and professionals of Polish films.

This initiative is taken by International Academy of Film and Media (IAFM), Bangladesh in association with WSPIERAM FOUNDATION and supported by Polish Film Institute, Poland.

“Vistula 1st Polish Film Festival Bangladesh 2021” will arrange two educational events. First one titled “Master Class on Cinematography: Women Behind the Camera” on 23 September at 8 PM (BD time) will be facilitated by much celebrated Polish female Cinematographer Weronika Bilska, Member, PSC, Poland.

And Second one titled “Lecture on Introduction of Polish Cinema” on 25 September 2021 at 8.00 PM (BD time) will be conducted by renowned Prof. Sanjoy Mukhopadhyay, Film scholar, Critic & Author Former HoD, Film Studies Department, Jadavpur University, India.

Educational Event

“Master Class on Cinematography: Women Behind the Camera” on 23 September at 8 PM (BD time) will be facilitated by much celebrated Polish female Cinematographer Weronika Bilska, Member, PSC, Poland. The areas of discussion will vary from:

• In depth artistic evaluation of Polish cinematography as a whole
• Changes and development of Polish cinematography over the years
• What it takes to be a female cinematographer in the show business

To other topics that are important and integral parts of visual media productions. In addition, there will be Q&A segment along with other interactive sessions. The audiences certainly will have a great opportunity to learn from this versatile talent so much.

‘“Vistula 1st Polish Film Festival Bangladesh 2021” will arrange two educational events. To other areas where audience will have a vivid scenario of Polish cinema as an art. We welcome audiences to enjoy and learn from this venerable.

I am very proud to be part of the IAFM’s presentation of the Vistula 1st Polish Film Festival in Bangladesh 2021. Firstly, my mother’s heritage is Polish, so naturally I feel a kinship. And secondly, and more importantly, is the astonishing contribution to cinema that Polish filmmakers have made including Krzysztof Kieślowski, Agnieszka Holland, Roman Polanski, Paweł Pawlikowski and Andrejz Vada to name just a few.
